Last Day Of Class :(

I've been so excited for this time for a year and a half but now that it's here I'm so sad. Tonight was my last night of class. I have been with the same 15 people every Tuesday night for four hours for the last year and a half. I will especially miss my girls in team A! BreAnna, Erin, Stephanie, and Tess... Team BEST!!! ;) It's a great feeling to finally have my Masters but so sad to say goodbye to these amazing people. Go UOPX!!!
Erin, Tess, Steph, and Bre... Go Team A!!!

Favorite 2nd Grade Quotes Part II

I'm reading a book where it shows part of the animal on one page and the rest of the animal on the next...

Teacher:... That was a platypus...
Student: Oh I knew it was a potato!

Teacher:... That was a water glider, they use their legs to walk on water...
Student: Hey, that's just like Jesus!

A 1st grader is crying outside my door so I go out to see if he is okay. (The doors lead to outside) He is crying and holding a packaged brownie...

Teacher: Are you okay bud? What happened?
Student: (sobbing) Someone hit my eye and it really hurts
Teacher: Well it looks okay to me, make sure your mommy rinses it out with water when you get home okay. Do you want me to put your brownie in your backpack so it's easier to ride your scooter?
Student: (still sobbing) Someone threw this (talking about the brownie) at me and it hit my eye
Teacher: (trying not to laugh) Okay well do you want me to throw it away for you?
Student: (of course, still sobbing) No, I want to eat it
Teacher: (now laughing) Okay, let me put it in your backpack for you

Oh man, these kids are hilarious!

Favorite 2nd Grade Quotes Part I

"Mrs. Woods, can I call you Mrs. FireWoods?"
(you know, firewood...)

"And also, this is my 'bionicule' and it spits fire, and also, I lost a piece, and also it can make earthquakes, and also..." (not sure how to spell that)

"I am already a good reader and I am insulted that you want me to read in reading centers."

Teacher: "You need to write about what you just did in r.a.d. KIDS." (literally 20 minutes ago)
Student: "My brain can't think back that far."

Student: "That kid over there hit me!"
Teacher: "Okay, thank you for telling me, are you okay?"
Student: "Oh I'm tough, I just wanted to tell you."

"Maybe someone didn't turn in their homework because they are afraid to tell you they lost it."

And my very favorite so far...

Teacher: "Why shouldn't we tell strangers that our parents aren't home?"
Student: "Because then they will KILL our parents!"

I am loving (student) teaching!!! :)

Surreal

Let me tell you a story. About a year and a half ago, Brian and I were living in Long Island, NY for the summer. We went into Manhattan quite a bit and had a blast. One particular time, Brian bought a Stewie energy drink at a random gift shop. When we got home I asked him when he was going to drink it. He said he needed to save it for something special. He then decided that he would drink his Stewie energy drink when he got accepted into pharmacy school.
Well here he is with his energy drink...

...and here he is drinking it!!!
That's right! My man just got accepted into pharmacy school! He will be attending The Roseman University of Health Sciences, formerly known as USN!!! We won't have to move and it's only a 3 year school so he will be done super fast too! And I don't mean to brag, but he had his interview on Thursday, February 3rd and he got his call on Tuesday, February 8th! My honey was one of the first picks for this year's admission!!! He is such a little smarty pants and I'm so proud of him.

Crazy Wife Moment...

I realize I have become a little too honest on this blog but oh well. I had a crazy wife moment tonight, my dear sweet husband got home from a "long" day. The word long is in quotes because he had a test and then he had to go to a movie with his brother. I hate when I have to go to movies with my brother... anyways... He comes home from this "long" day a little bit after I got home from my actual long day at work. I'm debating on packing up our room so we can move upstairs easier and as I'm contemplating, he turns on his Call of Duty. I HATE this game. HATE it. For some reason, when I hear that "dun dun" of the game starting, it sends craziness throughout my body. I asked him if he was seriously gonna play that. He then asks me if I want to watch a movie or something. I tell him I can't decide what to do, I really should pack up the room. Next thing I know, I hear that dang "dun dun." GRRRR. I tell him to at least turn it down, he replies by telling me that I need to ask him nicely. "Brian, will you please turn it down?" (In a very sarcastic voice). He tells me again to ask nicely. Um no thanks. I proceed to turn off the xbox and take out the game. My first thought was to break that dumb game in half and throw it in the garbage where it belongs, but I realized that it would just be another $60, leaving me less money to spend on home decor. So instead I take it to the bedroom and put it in my sock drawer. He then proceeds out the door. No words, nothing. We have been trying to be more patient with each other so I know he went outside to count to 10 or whatever. It's been an hour or so and he still hasn't asked about it... I think he knows better at this point ;) So instead, I get to watch a stupid documentary on health insurance. Which is worse? I don't know. Does anyone know what I'm talking about with these crazy wife moments or am I just crazy on my own?

Exciting News!!!

No, I am not pregnant, I just got my student teaching assignment! I will be teaching 2nd grade at Cascade Elementary in Orem! I am so nervous and so excited! AND... Brian got an interview with USN! He interviews next Thursday, the 3rd of Feb. He is so nervous and so excited too! It's so crazy because we're getting that much closer to our goals. We still have a long way to go, but baby steps my friends, baby steps :)

*Edit* USN is University of Southern Nevada but they have a West Jordan campus here in Utah so we wouldn't have to move! And it's one of the very few 3 year schools, most are 4 years so it would be perfect if Brian got in! :)

Happy Birthday Zoe!!!

My Zoe turned 2 today! I know I'm one of those weirdo dog people but we had to celebrate. One of her doggy friends, Scout, had his birthday the day before so we got them together for a little party. I made a cake for us and a special cake for the doggies. It was made of special ingredients for doggies and although it wasn't too appealing to me, the doggies loved it!
The human cake. Don't mind that blob of purple frosting, I've been watching a lot of Cake Boss and got a little too ambitious...
The doggy cake... Made of shredded carrots, peanut butter, and honey... yum.
The girls eating their cake. They wouldn't keep it on their plates in the kitchen :(
Scout and Zoe playing
Ha ha! Asha can't ever seem to keep her eyes open during pictures... I love it!
And the birthday girl! Her ears are folded cuz she was playing so much!
Happy birthday my Zoe girls. I love you so much!!!
