Happy Holidays!

This holiday was crazy and unfortunately I forgot my camera everywhere we went so I didn't get a ton of pictures. First of all, my mom called me on Christmas Eve and told me that they had a 5 hour layover... in the Salt Lake airport! Brian and I blew off both of our family Christmas parties and drove up to Salt Lake to have dinner with my mom, brother, and sister. I haven't seen my mom for a holiday since I was 16 so it was amazing! Then on Christmas day we got to talk to Riley on Skype! It was so good to see him and talk to him. I just love him and the little goofy goober he's turned in to. We had a great Christmas spending time with family and a fun New Years spending time with friends.
I have learned a few things this holiday. First, I never ever ever want to work another holiday in retail. Done. Second, what is the point in stressing over all the prep work for holiday if I don't take the time to enjoy my family and friends... the very people all the prep work is for? I will not stress as much next year. If things get done, great... if not, oh well :) And lastly, I need to give more next year. We didn't do sub for santa this year, which sucked. Next year, we are doing a smaller Christmas for each other so we can give more. Oh yes, one more thing... I will never yell at another Wal Mart lady as long as I live :)

Merry Freaking Christmas

So I did something horrible today. I feel completely awful. So let me preface this story by first saying that I hate rude customers. At work, we always joke about how funny it is that around this time of year people get more and more rude. Holiday cheer? Nah. So anyways, I had to be to work at 6:30 this morning, and as my dear husband puts it so kindly, if I am sleepy, or don't have food in my belly... watch out. I hate waking up early. I would rather stay up until 6 in the morning than wake up at 6 in the morning. Okay anyways, let's just say I was in a grumpy mood when I got off work, but I had a few errands to run before I could go home and relax. I ran to Wal Mart and used the "instant" picture developing kiosk and had my pictures within minutes. I was excited because I wouldn't have to come back in an hour. So I go to pay for them, and this sweet lady asks me if I had paid to get these done. Now, before I go on, you must know that this same sweet lady that is helping me at this moment is the same sweet lady who 2 years ago, helped me with my car when it wouldn't start. My car was parked at Wal Mart and it wouldn't start. I asked her if she had jumper cables and she said she didn't, but that her boyfriend was in the area so she called him and he came over and helped me with my car. A complete stranger. So every time I see her at the photo center, I am reminded of her kindness. Okay back to the story. So that same lady asks me if I paid to have my pictures done. Yes, I did, my aunt Jeanne did them for me. She then asks me if I have a copyright to the pictures... No. She then tells me that she can't give me my pictures until I get written permission from her to use them. What? At first, I don't even comprehend the situation. I just stare. Wait, so you're telling me I can't have my pictures? She then tells me the whole policy and blah blah blah. I don't know what happened but I snapped! I got all snotty and started ranting and raving about how ridiculous that was and I don't have time for this, and just give me my pictures and so on. I was rude. She stayed calm and sweet the whole time while I threw a temper tantrum. Finally, another lady said, just have her sign saying she does have the copyright and give her the pictures. The lady that was originally helping me says, "Okay, I'm done. I'm going home." The other lady was really nice and helped me with the rest of my stuff. She explained that she was just doing her job. I didn't feel too bad until I was on my way to my next stop. All of a sudden it hit me. I'm a (*insert bad word here*). I called my mom and she told me the only way I would feel better was if I went to apologize. I went home and wrote her a sorry note. I wrapped up one of our "neighbor gifts" and took it over to Wal Mart. I asked for the lady but she had gone home. I started telling the other lady that was there how sorry I was and how bad I felt. I started getting choked up and looked like a complete moron. I gave her the gift and card and left on my way. I still feel horrible, but I wanted to post this because I never want to forget this. I just have to say that one bad customer can ruin my entire day. I can't imagine what I did to her day. I also want to remember that this is the Christmas season, and I need to remember what it is really about. It would not have been the end of the world to get the written consent and get my pictures on Monday. I hope this guilty feeling goes away but I also hope that I learn from this. It's Christmas, the happiest time of the year. So let's all be happy :)

Happy Halloween Part II

This year was a lot of fun! Friday night we went to a party at Brian's cousin's and Saturday we had our friend party. So much fun!!! This year Brian chose to go as Toad and Toadette from Mario Brothers... not his worst idea ;) I didn't get any pictures at the first party but here are some from our friend party!
Craig and Nat were iPod ear buds... love it!
Eric and Diane... so white trash ;)
Ha ha Mike and Heather are lesbians... everyone was hitting on Mike that night!
Cody and Krista, flapper girl and gangster guy... adorable as always!
Brett and Hope, the hunter and his deer... so funny!
And lastly, the group...

We played a lot of fun games and ate a lot of junk food... it was a blast!
Happy Halloween!!!!

Happy Halloween Part I

Yesterday we had our friends over and we all carved pumpkins! Here's our group... Don't mind Brian's seductive face :) No, he did not do that on purpose
All lit up!
Our little family. Asha is a bumblebee and Zoe is a little piggy!
Ha ha Zoe hates being dressed and just stands there depressed. Poor girl
I promise this costume fit Asha when we bought it. She is a little chunker and eats everything in sight.. everything!

Our cute girls with their pumpkins

Stay tuned for me and Brian's costumes this year... it was Brian's turn to choose ;)

10.10.10

Today Brian and I have been married for 2 years! It's the weirdest feeling because I feel like I've been married way longer than that, but at the same time it seems crazy that it's already been 2 years. Brian was so sweet, he planned a very romantic getaway and threw me off with every little thing. Friday night I was told to be ready with an overnight bag and be ready to go as soon as he got off work. We stopped by target... very weird. Then we went to Costa Vida. The whole time he was telling me that we had to hurry or we would be late for our appointment. But yet, he was making all these random stops. We finally end up at Little America, the hotel we stayed at the night of our wedding! He reserved a honeymoon suite so the cute girl at the front desk told us congratulations on just getting married and we totally went along with it :) When we got to the room there were chocolate covered strawberries and peach sparkling cider with a rose. It was perfect. The next day we played around in Salt Lake. We went to breakfast at a really yummy hole in the wall, went to the LDS History Museum, went shopping at Gateway, and went and saw The Town. After our day in Salt Lake, we went to Red Robin at the Provo Mall where Brian told me that he would let me pick out diamond earrings! Psych. We ate our dinner and left the mall... without diamond earrings. I know, what a jerk ;) That night, a little after midnight, Brian went and got our bag of snacks we got from Target and told me to pick out my favorite treat. I was tired and definitely not in the mood for junk food. I peaked in the bag anyway and there was a little white box... yes, there were diamond earrings inside. It was such a good surprise! A little mean, but a great surprise! Today we've just been lounging around, ate some yummy crepes, and are just enjoying the time we have together.

Inside the hotel room...
Eating breakfast at the Royal Eatery
Brian even splurged and got me the breast cancer awareness tub of popcorn!!!

It was a perfect weekend. I'm just sad we have to go back to real life now ;)
Happy 2 years babe!
